The sad answer is… it depends.
In July of 2013, Baby Duran was shot and murdered along with his mother outside their home. Baby Duran’s life was ended around 13 weeks after his conception.
Kansas Constitution recognizes that by nature of being a human being Kansas stands ready to protect your life, your liberty, and your pursuit of happiness. It also says that when those rights are infringed upon, the state is ready to punish the wrong doers just as our state attorney general did in this case. Derek Schmidt, the Kansas Attorney General, took up Baby Duran and his mother’s case and the jury found Bryant Seba guilty of TWO counts first degree murder of Baby Duran and his mother. And that is as it should be!
However, when it comes to matters of life and death, how can the answer be “it depends”? How is it that over 7000 unborn babies can be murdered by abortion this year in Kansas with no action on the part of the Kansas Attorney General?
